Abstract

The purpose of this report is the Exploration of a redundancy situation on the work force and the impact that it has on the employees that are left behind as a result. Generally during a redundancy /restructuring programme, most of the focus is on the employees that will leave the Company in the future. The majority of actions taken at this time are with consideration for the future company/business needs, complying with legislation, negotiations with Unions ,preparing leavers via outplacement programmes The majority of companies don’t consider the Employees that are the future of the business until issues arise, motivation drops and ultimately the business needs suffer. The report will review some of the critical issues and challenges that arise during the redundancy situation.
