Abstract

This chapter examines how ECEC practitioners and services can work in partnership with parents and engage them in supporting their children’s learning and development, both at home and in the service.
Its content is underpinned by the Work of the Early Learning Initiative (ELI), National College of Ireland, a community-based educational initiative in the Dublin Docklands, Irish national quality and curriculum frameworks, Síolta (CECDE 2006) and Aistear (NCCA 2009).
