Abstract
Reliability, resilience, and sustainability in the selection of cloud services has gained more prominence with the ability to manipulate Quality of Service (QoS) values. The available trust models are typically based on predetermined historical measures, do not provide a system to respond to real-time misreporting, and are not very transparent, which is not suitable when it comes to lightweight and reliable decision-making. To overcome these constraints, this paper presents SimCloud, a lightweight trust system that would improve the evaluation of cloud services by addressing these limitations: an explainable trust scoring model to provide clarity in the decision logic, a green energy component to include the element of sustainability, A time based trust deterioration component to downgrade stale Quality of Service results and also for the identification of anomalies and penalising services with manipulated service reports. SimCloud has been tested in both normal and hostile circumstances, like single-service manipulation, QoS aging, and cohort-level attacks. The findings indicate that SimCloud is predictable in its ranking accuracy, consistent in its ability to detect manipulated QoS submissions, suitable in reprimanding outdated information, and it is lightweight, interpretable, and reproducible. These results show that SimCloud reinforces trustworthiness, resilience and sustainability in cloud service ecosystems as opposed to traditional trust models.
