Abstract
Human error is considered one of the most difficult threats to detect. In 2020, 62% of insider facilitated incidents were the result of human error. This research project explores the gaps in traditional software development methodologies to identity areas of the processes where human error can be better treated to mitigate potential security risks. The Human-Centred Design “heuristic testing” method will be evaluated to identify and treat potential cyber security vulnerabilities and weaknesses in early stages of software development by evaluating the the user's experience before any coding begins.
