Abstract
Smartmove is a data platform which aims to provide businesses and consumers with insight into the property market in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Smartmove is made up of several software components. The main
features include a Data Warehouse, REST API and in-depth data analysis using R. The platform retrieves data from multiple sources including Daft.ie, Zoopla and the Property Price Register. ETL tools for retrieving and processing data from these sources have been made as part of this project. The REST API allows third-party developers to use Smartmove data in their own applications. The endpoints include features such as the ability to retrieve JSON data that can easily be consumed by the Google Charts API. Smartmove is an open source project and all of the software components are available on Github.
The potential users of Smartmove include:
1. Businesses who wish to gain intelligence on how to better target areas.
2. Consumers who intend to research property prices before purchasing.
3. Developers who wish to use Smartmove data in their own applications.
