Using interactive activities and restorative circles we will present information on the key objectives and findings of The North East Inner City Brighter Futures Initiative, including:
- Exploring the concept of Restorative Practice as a social science and its capacity to build relationships, promote empathy, reduce conflict and foster social solidarity.
- Demonstrating the potential of restorative processes (such as circles and conferences) to provide a safe environment for people to express and exchange emotion (Nathanson, 1998).
- Illustrating the use of restorative practices and its impact on the development of emotional intelligence and empathy.
