Abstract
This project is aimed to break the boundaries associated with communication in sign language communities, by having an app that people can use to look up the physical sign actions through a mobile phone.
The purpose of this report is to address the technical details and requirements for my project – an Irish sign language (ISL) dictionary mobile app, showcasing English words and phrases and what the equivalent is in Irish sign language (ISL). With the use of different diagrams, I have described the application’s design and architecture, as well as highlight the use cases for each required functionality of the application.
This application can be usable by anyone but is targeted towards people who have family members or friends in the sign language communities, as well as businesses and industries to enable staff to communicate easier with people with these disabilities.
As well as the requirements needed, I have also addressed the testing I used throughout the project, including testing plans, tools and technologies. After testing, I will also evaluate the current state of the project, including the results received, system performance and its correctness.
